Fiona Grace Gillilan was born on 1/22/12. I got to spend this past Sunday morning with Fiona, Adelaide and their Mom & Dad. Fiona was a great model, taking naps when tired but showing us her beautiful eyes as well. Rest assured that you will see much more of this little one in the future!

I met with Ryan & Hillary on Church Street for their engagement session at the beginning of this month. The Dolan's - Season III

You might remember these faces from a couple of weeks ago when I shot their engagement shoot. Aaron and Lisa Minor were married on October 1st, 2011 at The Stables at Pigeon Hill Farm in East Berkshire, VT. While unfortunately the weather didn't really want to cooperate the entire bridal party was in good spirits none the less! The Boston Bruins theme was apparent throughout the whole night, from jerseys to a blow up trophy, basically if you were a Canadians fan this wouldn't be a good place for you. :) Congratulations to the newlyweds you truly are the perfect pair!

Aaron Minor and Lisa Benjamin are getting married October 1, 2011 and decided they wanted some engagement photos. So last Saturday we were blessed with a beautiful fall day and made our way to Stowe, Vermont for some photos. We started in town by the walking bridge, made our way up to the Trapp Family Lodge and their gorgeous gardens and then over to Stowe Mountain Resort to play with an over-sized chess set! I had the privilege to photograph Ashley & Nick Caron's wedding. They were married at Jay Peak Resort on 8/27/11. It was the first time I have been to Jay Peak in the summer, I have spent many days on the peak in the winter, but the summer adds a whole new level of beauty. We were so fortunate to have a perfect day just before the wrath of Irene hit Vermont. Ashley & Nick planned everything so well, even down to Ashley's cowgirl boots! Which made for some fun photos! Rules of Engagement

Rule #1: Propose
Rule #2: Have an engagement shoot to get photos for save the date cards.

I know there are a bunch of other (rules) in there, but for the purpose of this post we will leave it to those two. Tom and Lyndi are actually my neighbors (well about a mile away), and I am shooting their wedding next May. As part of their preparation to the big day they are sending out save the date cards. So for their engagement shoot we traveled to a different part of Westford, the beautiful property of Gerard's Bread. From there we visited a friends farm. We had some fun towards the end (Tom's great idea!) trying to replicate the famous farmer photo. Can't wait to shoot their wedding!

On Friday, July 1st Jessica and Matt married at Saint Michael's Chapel. Jess and Matt currently live in New Hampshire and have been dating since high school. Jess attended Saint Mikes in college and liked the chapel so much that they decided to have their ceremony at the church and all the way up here in Vermont! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful start to the 4th of July weekend. Congrats to the bride and groom!

On June 25th, 2011 Holly Lessard and Ken Austin tied the knot in Barre, Vermont! Ken and Holly were high school sweethearts and have been dating since they were 15 years old. Two years ago on the front steps of the school they both attended and where they had their first kiss, Ken proposed. Surrounded by loving family and friends Ken and Holly celebrated their marriage on a beautiful day in Vermont at The Capital Plaza Hotel. Cheers to the both of you, here is to your future! Normally I am shooting the beginning of forever, your wedding day. But last weekend I had the opportunity to take part in a couple's 65th Wedding Anniversary party. Last Sunday was a beautiful VT day to have the party and apparently I was told that is exactly how the weather was 65 years ago! Perfect day for a wedding. The family gathered from Colorado and all parts of Vermont, to come together and celebrate this couples' success at marriage! Now if they would only share their secret...

Identity

The Photo Foundry finally has an identity, a logo and a developing brand! Thanks to Michelle Boutin of On a Personal Note, through a process that started last fall we worked together in developing something that I am excited to present to all of my fans!

I will start by giving you a little background of how we came to the logo I am presenting you with today. I came up with the name The Photo Foundry as a spin off of my maiden last name Fondry. Not only that but the word Foundry means the creation or casting of metal. So the name The Photo Foundry would mean the creation or casting of photos.

Michelle was able to make a few different iterations of my logo. For one of the logos she created it to look like a cast (by making a small three-dimensional design) of the logo in hopes of once again integrating the Foundry aspect.

On May 7th, 2011 Brandy Gillilan and Josh Carico tied the knot in Galax, Virginia. As my first destination wedding Virginia was a lovely place to be. The rolling green hills were a wonderful backdrop for a beautiful sunny May day to get married. The wedding had Southern touches throughout, and as you can tell from the title of this blog, some people had some fun decorating Josh's truck. On May 1st, 2011 my second shoot of the day was with Baby Oliver. As you may remember I photographed the maternity photos in April at Stowe Mountain Resort. I met parents Dolan and Kim at their home in Stowe to capture their little cutie who is now over a month old. Sticking with the snow/boarding theme from their maternity shoot we were able to take some fun photos involving one of Dolan's favorite sports (and probably eventually Ollie's too!) The 2nd Annual eRace Rett 5K Run to ERASE Rett Syndrome

On Sunday May 1st, 2011 I joined over 100 runners in the 2nd Annual eRace Rett. While I didn't run in the race, I was busy documenting each part of the event. The race was well attended, there were runners/walkers ranging from 3 to 30+ all coming out in an effort to raise money for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation.

My good friend Michelle Boutin organized the event and with the help of many and was able to raise over $15,000!! The race started at Burton Headquarters in South Burlington and runners were able to enjoy the rolling terrain on the Burlington Bike Path along the Lake Champlain shoreline.

Crazy little thing called LOVE

On Saturday, April 30th, 2011 I had the privilege to photograph Bram and Erin tie the knot at The Lilac Inn in Brandon, VT. Bram and Erin met four years ago on a blind date at Bangkok Bistro. When I met with Erin to discuss her wedding she told me that Bram proposed toher on the top of Mount Mansfield (the same way my husband proposed)!! So from the start I was excited for their big day.

This was the first time I had visited the Lilac Inn and it definitely held a certain romantic aura around it. With all of the rain and flooding that has been happening this year Bram & Erin were fortunate to get the perfect sunny spring day. It was a beautiful wedding and it was a pleasure to meet both of these fabulous people. Below is a peak at their big day as it transpired. Congratulations Bram & Erin! All the best to you! My most recent photography session was with parents-to-be Kim and Dolan at Stowe Mountain Lodge. The new gorgeous buildings offered a beautiful (inside) location where we walked around and were able to get some shots of the three of them! Kim's baby boy is due any day now.

Cathy Janvier Shoot

I met Cathy (Kattsee) Janvier at the waterfront park on a brisk March day this past month. Even though the sun was shining brightly the wind was quite chilly coming off of Lake Champlain. Kattsee wanted to get together for the photo shoot because she needed a photo for the Canadian Frisbee Hall of Fame. (Congrats!) While we were able to get a few options for fulfilling that, we also decided to have some fun and take more artistic shots as well, enjoy!

Winter Weddingland

February 26th, 2011- my first wedding of this year, congratulations Eric and Eileen! Married at Our Lady of the Snows (seems fitting for a February wedding, right?) Catholic Church in Waitsfield, VT.

After the intimate ceremony the celebration moved to The Inn at the Round Barn. Eileen was a stunning bride with dark blue accents in her jewelery and shawl.

It was my first time at the Inn at the Round Barn and I can attest that it has a wonderfully romantic atmosphere about it. From the white lights decorated throughout the barn, to the tasteful candle centerpieces, the room looked magnificent throughout - with a touch of peacock feather! (which I learned Eileen is very fond of due to her year stay in New Orleans)

Both families were highly involved throughout the entire day and at times it seemed to be a Dutch vs. Irish showdown, but I am pretty sure everyone had a fabulous time. I know I did. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Barendse! To see more photos from this wedding, please check out my facebook page.

40th Birthday Surprise!

On the 20th of December at 6:00pm, Kattsee's 40th Birthday surprise commenced. After weeks of hard work and due diligence by Cathy's (aka Kattsee) husband Daron, plans went along seamlessly as Kattsee walked completely surprised into a room full of friends and family at The Firehouse Gallery on Church Street.

Daron had successfully arranged for friends that were not able to be at the party to gchat with Kattsee

New parents Bryan Cho and Elizabeth Lim conference in with baby Mila to join the party

The room was beautifully decorated with festive holiday lights and decorations

Daron even had a 'photo booth' area set up where Kattsee posed with most of the guests

Some decided to go 80's prom style

I recently photographed baby Jaiden who is just over 1 year old. Her adoring Aunt Morgan set up the Holiday photo shoot. Jaiden didn't quite understand why she had to change into so many outfits, and once she was just laying in her diaper on the couch she couldn't have been any happier! I am sure this Christmas will be lots of fun watching her try to open presents, enjoy the photos & Happy Holidays!

A New Addition

I met with the growing Gillilan Family again this year; that is Bryan, Gabrielle, Roman and 7 month old Adelaide. Adding a 7 month old into the photo shoot can be fun and challenging but most importantly - very rewarding, who doesn't like looking at cute baby photos?! Making sure Addie was fed, well rested and focused was a task in itself, but thankfully for toys and an open afternoon we were able to capture all sides of my niece and her mom and dad.

Evie Raisanen turns 1 year old on November 21, 2010. So in celebration of her first birthday Evie's grandparents wanted some photos to highlight the milestone. I met her at her parents house which conveniently was on a dirt road surrounded by farm land, the perfect place for a photo shoot. I had a photo shoot with the McCaffrey's at Lang Farm in Essex, Vermont. Danny had called me and wanted a photo shoot because they had not had a family portrait since their oldest was a baby. With these two very energetic little girls (Avery and Macey) it kept me on my toes and made for an interesting shoot!

First of all, they were (and I was too) very excited about their black patent shoes, so I let them show them off!

In between posing for the camera there might have been some fooling around... :)

And they were always plotting...

But we managed to get a few good ones in there! ;)

Chrissy LeClair is a senior at Bellows Free Academy Fairfax. Like most seniors she is not quite sure what her plans are for next year, but she does have an interest in photography and graphic design. :) For her senior photos we went to her favorite place to hang out with her friends and dog, the Fairfax Falls! Brent & Sereena's Intimate Ceremony

Brent and Sereena Simoneau were married on August 28, 2010 at their own home during a small ceremony. Sereena had always imagined a private ceremony so they decided to tie the know when Brent was on his leave from Afghanistan. I was fortunate enough to join them on their wedding day and capture these special moments. Not only was there one day to celebrate but the following weekend they threw a big reception/house warming party to celebrate with all of their friends and relatives. This past Saturday, July 24th 2010 John Holiday and Michelle Cunning were married at the Round Church in Richmond, VT. They were my first wedding shoot and they are such a sweet couple! Everything about their wedding was uniquely theirs, from Michelle's fabulous dress to an African tradition of jumping over a broom after the ceremony. Greensburg Kansas Wind Farm

The Spiller Family was able to take their family pictures in the midst of this year's beautiful fall foliage! They were wonderful to work with, Matt and Amanda's kids have beautiful smiles and Anna just loves the camera! Watch out Amanda... :) Here is a sampling of some the pictures from the shoot.

Fall is a wonderful time to get out and capture the outdoors! I am very lucky to live in the state of VT and have such great opportunities to catch these occasions. I took these two photos as part of my submission to the local Westford town 2010 calendar. Wish me luck that they choose one of my photos!

Looking down at my feet and enjoying my time at the wedding on the beaches of Cape Cod. Even though it was a rainy couple of days, it was still beautiful.

It is that time of year when graduating high school seniors need to take their senior pictures! This is an exciting time as many of you have changed in the past couple of years and want to capture that inner beauty but lack the funds- seeing how you are trying to save for college.
